Project Scenario
Imagine that you are living in the 1800's, and your family just arrived by wagon to what is now Bellingham. How does the geography and the supply of food sources play on how you and your family will live? A long time ago Bellingham was very different from the way it is today. There were no highways, cars, or cities. There were no modern schools, malls, or restaurants. But even long, long ago, there were still communities. A community is where a group of people work, live, and have fun together. People made their own homes, food, and clothing from the plants and animals they found around them.
Essential Question: How does the geography and the supply of food sources play on where you and your family will live?
Gather information to find out:
What will your life be like? What will you build your house from? What will you eat? How will you travel?
What will you make your clothes from? What kind of toys will you play with?
You and your partner will design a PowerPoint presentation to tell others what it would have been like to live
a long time ago.
